The Canada Expedition

seeking solutions for a sustainable humanity

Our blog is the engine of the first phase of The Canada Expedition and is maintained by Carol Linnitt, Expedition Navigator. Our research, outreach and collaboration will be featured on Carol’s blog. Carol will provide regular updates to show our latest interviews and conversations with leading individuals in sustainability, economy, environmental restoration, social equity and violence prevention. All of this will add to our continuous discussion on a sustainable humanity, giving us access to the questions we’ve been searching for and hopefully their answers.

Also, on the Expedition Navigator’s Blog, you will find information and links relating to our latest discoveries. We will showcase the most notable innovations and innovators from Canada and across the globe.

THE CHALLENGE

THE COLLABORATION

For the past year we have been collecting some of the best and the brightest to collaborate with us on The Canada Expedition. But our collaboration goes well beyond our Expeditionary Team. We are working with today’s most exciting and provocative authorities and intellectuals from across sectors and across disciplines. The main work of The Canada Expedition is pressing these experts for the practical solutions we seek, for answers to the questions we pose.

What is more, we are on the look out for innovative communities, grassroots organisations and individuals who are creatively and heroically embracing change. If you have a person or a group that you would like to introduce us to, feel free to send us an email. We would love to hear from you.

Simply put, we believe that the greatest challenge confronting humanity is the sustainability of humanity itself.  We’ve spent over a year now trying to define just how The Canada Expedition will approach this challenge.  If, as we believe, the key pillars of the sustainability of humanity are dynamically inter-related then the challenge cannot be met by focusing on only one factor, such as the economy or the environment. Some concentration of the search must be on specific components of sustainability while trying to make the linkages in practical terms.

The Canada Expedition recognizes that we don’t have all of the answers, but we have organized the Expedition to fulfill its mission of finding them by taking a streamlined, dynamic and interactive approach. We know the answers are out there and we will bring them to you or connect you with the people who have them.

And once we’ve done that our Expedition Team will take what we’ve learned and transform that into practical policy recommendations and programs. We’ll do our part to make sure that our discoveries make it into your hands, but also into the hands of our leaders, enablers and policy makers.
